Welcome to SAAFElife.
My name is Lou-Ellen and I write about abuse, issues that go along with it, and the steps I took to heal and continue to do so.
I’m not a doctor. I am not a counselor. I am not a therapist. I am just a regular person who went through abuse and understands the effects it can have on a person both physically and mentally.
SAAFElife is here as a guide and comfort to let you know, you are NOT alone.
Everyone’s journey in life leads them to someone or somewhere. There are many paths to take. Only you can decide what path is right for you.
In my journey I found God. You will find my site safe kind and honest. It’s about my journey (which includes God) and the path I took to get to where I am today.
I am more than happy to talk with you, help you find your path and to let you know, that you are not alone.
I wrote a book called “Abused…It Is What It Is”. It is my life story, the way I remember it growing up. It’s not meant to be cruel, mean or harsh, it’s just my story. I am here to tell you that your story is just as important as mine.
Let’s join together to become Survivors Against Abuse For Everyone (SAAFE). Let’s look out for one another, help one another, lean on one another and share with one another. Males have also been known to be abused, I know a few. This is not just for women.
If you feel you need to call for help, please call the national abuse hotline: 1-800-656-4673.
When I finally got out of my abusive marriage it was because I was studying the Bible. Let me share a few verses with you that have been a Godsend for me.
I learned that husbands were supposed to treat women with love. Colossians 3:19 says: “Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.” That did NOT happen in my first marriage!!! But the Bible said this is what to expect. In Psalm 9:9 it says: “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.” (Oppressed means subject to harsh and authoritarian treatment—like me being abused)
I read and studied the Bible like never before! God gave me strength. HE also sent his son to die for me, FOR ME! YOU TOO! HE must love us so much to send his son to die for US! How humbling is it to know that GOD loves us so much that he gave us his son. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that HE gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” That is DEEP!
From the time I was seven until I turned 32, I was at the hands of abusers. It was all I knew. I didn’t know anything else. Today is different; now I KNOW there is help out there. Now I know there are others in worse situations than what I was in. Now I know.. more than I ever wanted to.
I’m here to help YOU, to show you the light, God’s light, his love, his Son-Jesus Christ. I want YOU to know that HE CARES (and so do I), HE BELIEVES in YOU (and so do I)!
In the New King James Version—Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” A FUTURE AND A HOPE! This is what gives me peace; knowing that GOD has plans and a hopeful future for ME!
As you can see, GOD is there with you. Helping you, even if you can’t feel it now. But BELIEVE! You are NOT alone!
You don’t have to be alone. Reach out. Get Help before it’s too late. Save yourself. No one else can. Save your children. No one else will love them more or better than you.
Please sign up for my blogs, leave me a comment, email me, or just read my blogs. I hope they help you. If there is something you NEED to know or read, let me know. I’ll do the best I can to write it.
Thank you. You are so kind. So caring. So loving. Be good to yourself. I promise, there is Light after Abuse!
With sincere and unconditional love,
